ニューヨーク、ブルックリン在住のデザイナーでアーティストである、Sebit Min さんと Andrew Teohさんによるs-u-m studioの展覧会を開催いたします。

Sebitさんは陶芸、Andrewさんはお菓子を制作しており、ふたりは"焼く”という共通点でつながっています。今回は、それぞれのルーツをテーマにした作品が並びます。

Sebitさんは韓国の伝統陶器「青磁」をモチーフにした陶芸作品を、Andrewさんはマレーシアの食文化にインスパイアされたデザートを制作します。（今回は焼菓子ではなく、新しい表現をしてくださるとのこと！）

伝統をふたりの視点で再解釈することで、新しく魅力的な表現が生まれています。

もともとおふたりのグラフィックデザインのお仕事が素敵で興味を持っていましたが、s-u-mとしての表現もとてもユニークで魅力的だったため、お声がけしました。

April Shopでは、今回が初めての海外アーティストのご紹介になります。

We are happy to present an exhibition by s-u-m studio, formed by Sebit Min and Andrew Teoh, two artists and designers based in Brooklyn, New York.

Sebit works with ceramics, and Andrew makes sweets

— they are connected by the idea of "baking" in different forms.

In this show, they each share works inspired by their backgrounds.

Sebit will show ceramics based on Korean celadon, and Andrew will create desserts inspired by Malaysian food culture.

(This time, he's trying a new kind of expression - not baked sweets!)

I've been interested in their work as designers for a long time. When I saw s-u-m's unique and creative approach, I was inspired to invite them.

This will be April Shop's first time showcasing international artists, and I hope you can join us for this special occasion.
